Stepanagerd (Stepanakert, Ստեփանակերտ), originally called Vararakn (Վարարակն). It is the capital and the largest city of the Artsakh Republic. As of 2015, the population of Stepanagerd is 55,200.

FOA funded and completed many projects in Stepanagerd in many phases. Most of the projects are done in the Orphanage. See the project list and pictures below. THE TOTAL COST IS $24,687.

Project #194; Cost $1,245. In 2022 FOA repaired the Roof of the Orphanage.

Project #156; Cost $8,500. In 2019, FOA built new bathrooms for the children in the Orphanage.

Project #142; Cost $1,150. In 2019, FOA renovated the Orphanage by dividing and modifying certain rooms for the children’s privacy.

Project #141; Cost $2,550. In 2019, FOA renovated the Orphanage by installing a new heater and purchasing new beds for the children.

Project #139; Cost $3,650. In 2018, FOA replaced the flooring of the Orphanage of the whole building.

Project #105; Cost $3,300. In 2017, FOA renovated the Orphanage by installing new windows.

Project #23; Cost $4,292. In 2006, FOA sent a Paramedic vehicle, donated by the Fire Department of the city of Montebello, California to their Sister City of Stepanagerd, Artsakh.
